Senate approves Reentry Incentive Grant program which aims to reduce recidivism in Tennessee jails

NASHVILLE — Legislation authorizing a pilot program to award grants to local county sheriffs or probation departments that are successful in reducing recidivism was approved by the full Senate today.  Senate Bill 1865, sponsored by Senator Ed Jackson (R-Jackson), would provide $1 million in grants to fund a three-year successful reentry program in four Tennessee counties.

Senator Jackson receives ACU Award for Conservative Excellence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Sen. Ed Jackson (R-Jackson) is encouraging food and agriculture business, farmers and other entities in District 27 to apply for grants awarded through the Agriculture Enterprise Fund (AEF). Sen. Jackson announces $22,339 Clean Tennessee Energy Grant to Lake County

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Sen. Ed Jackson (R-Jackson) announced today that a $22,339 Clean Tennessee Energy Grant has been awarded to Lake County. Jackson was informed of the grant by Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau.

The grant will be used to install a solar energy system at the Lake County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Station.

Sen. Jackson applauds State Building Commission approval of corrections projects in District 27

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The State Building Commission approved five projects for the Northwest Correctional Complex in Lake County and the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Lauderdale County.
