Statement from Senator Rusty Crowe regarding devastation due to storms

(NASHVILLE, TN), April 28, 2011 –   “My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones due to the storms.  We are keeping these families in our prayers during this difficult time.”

“I have been in contact with the Governor’s office and our state emergency agencies since learning of the damage, including a meeting with them this morning regarding the matter. I have asked Governor Haslam to tour Washington County to see the damage first hand and met with Deputy Governor Claude Ramsey to begin the coordination of an on-site tour for the Governor of the destruction and to meet with affected residents.  I am also working with federal and local authorities, including Mayor Dan Eldridge, to make sure the victims of these tornadoes receive the aid they deserve and need.”

“We must come together as a community to help our neighbors who are in need of assistance. I will continue to do everything I can to provide the needed assistance and to help the victims of this storm get back on their feet.”
