(NASHVILLE, TN), October 26, 2012 — State Senator Ken Yager (R-Harriman) said today he has been informed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) that the Jamestown (Fentress County) Airport will receive two aeronautics grants.
The grants are available through TDOT’s Division of Aeronautics. The first grant totals $95,000 and will be used for repairing the taxiway. The second is $55,000 and will be used for exterior improvements to the buildings.
“This airport is an important tool for economic development and I was pleased to support the grant in committee and the full Senate,” said Senator Yager. “It is very important that we keep up with needed repairs. I am sure these funds will be put to good use.”
Senator Yager is a member of the Senate Transportation Committee and is Chairman of the State and Local Government Committee.
