(NASHVILLE, TN), July 31, 2012 — State Senator Ken Yager (R-Harriman) said today he has been informed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) that the Oneida (Scott County) Airport will receive a $85,500 federal / state grant.
The grant is available through TDOT’s Division of Aeronautics and requires a 5 percent local match of $4,500 for a total of $90,000. Yager said the funds will be used for airfield pavement repairs.
“I congratulate our local leaders for their leadership in helping to secure a grant from the TDOT to provide vital improvements to the airfield,” said Senator Yager. “The Oneida Airport is one of the best in the state and serves the entire region. The improvements that this grant will fund make the airport even more attractive to business and industry.”
