NASHVILLE, TN, (September 6, 2018) –State Senator Ed Jackson (R-Jackson) announced today that Dyersburg is set to receive a $498,774 Community Development Block Grant. Jackson made the announcement after receiving notification from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development which administers the grant program under a procedure authorized by the Tennessee General Assembly.
These funds will be used to rehabilitate and upgrade components at the wastewater treatment plant, which will improve the treatment process.
“I am pleased to announce that Dyersburg will receive this grant,” said Senator Jackson. “It will help make needed sewage improvements to benefit area residents.”
“I also want to thank our local officials who were instrumental in helping secure these funds,” he continued. “Infrastructure is very important to the overall economic development of our county. It is a key component of job creation. We will continue to work to bring home funds to improve our communities and pave the way for new jobs.”
