Sen. Ketron donates flag to Blackman ROTC /

Praises Local Program

(NASHVILLE, TN), November 13, 2008 — Local State Senator Bill Ketron has donated two flags to Blackman High School. The flags will be used in the school’s ROTC (Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corp) program.

“ROTC develops the discipline, responsibility and leadership skills that students may not get in other classes,” said Sen. Ketron.  “We have an excellent ROTC program in our local schools and I am pleased to be able to assist them by providing flags to be used by the students in the program.”

ROTC is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, and self discipline.
