(NASHVILLE, TN) — State Senator Dolores Gresham today praised the Middleton Police Department for receiving first place at the National Law Enforcement Challenge (NLEC). Middleton was recognized in the nationwide traffic safety awards program for its effectiveness in traffic safety enforcement, including officer training, public information and crash reduction.
“Once again, our Middleton Police Department has excelled in their efforts to protect the public,” said Senator Gresham. “This Department goes beyond the call of duty and shows how much these officers truly care about the citizens of this community. Congratulations to Chief Webb and his crew for a job well done.”
The program provides law enforcement agencies with an opportunity to make a difference in the communities they serve and allows agencies to learn from one another and establish future goals in traffic safety enforcement and education. It is conducted under the direction of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, which is the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit membership organization of police executives, with over 20,000 members in over 100 different countries.
