(NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 29, 2017) – Senator Rusty Crowe (R-Johnson City) announces Johnson City stop on 13-year-old Graham McCalman’s Golf-A-Thon for Myeloma tour on Saturday, July 1. McCalman will be honoring the memory of his grandfather, Pete McCalman, a year after his passing from complications related to multiple myeloma.
“No one is a stranger to the sting of a loss from cancer,” said Sen. Crowe. “While the losses are widespread, events like this to preserve memories and legacies are exceptional and heartwarming. Graham is using his talents on the course and the passion for golf he and his grandfather shared to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for the cancer that took his grandfather a year ago.”
The Johnson City Country Club will be the first stop on the Golf-A-Thon’s four-day tour through four states. McCalman will be joined by several other young golfers who will be golfing nine holes at each of the courses they visit.
