Local lawmakers announce $500,000 Grant to improve
Elizabethton water systems
(NASHVILLE, TN), November 3, 2008 — State Senator Rusty Crowe and Representative Kent Williams today announced that the City of Elizabethton is set to receive $500,000 in state and federal grants to improve water systems. The two lawmakers made the announcement today after being notified of the grant.
“We are very grateful that this grant has been approved and appreciate all the hard work that that was done in making these needed improvements available to our area,” said Senator Crowe. “In a difficult budget year, this money is especially needed.”
“Infrastructure and water quality is very important to the well-being of our citizens and the economic development of our county,” Rep. Williams added. “This grant will be beneficial in helping us work toward improvements in this area.”
