(NASHVILLE, TN), April 17, 2013 — The Tennessee General Assembly recognized the Milligan College women’s basketball team at a Tuesday meeting of the State Senate. A resolution, Senate Joint Resolution 300, sponsored by upstate lawmakers Senator Rusty Crowe, Representative Kent Williams and Representative Timothy Hill honored the group and coach Rich Aubrey for winning the 2013 Appalachian Athletic Conference championship and for obtaining a conference record of 16-2.
“I am extremely proud of this team,” said Senator Crowe. “The students and the coaches are to be commended for the outstanding accomplishments of each individual on this team and this exemplary program.”
“This is a truly outstanding group of athletes,” stated Rep. Hill. “We are proud to honor their achievements with this resolution and I look forward to watching each of them continue accomplishing great things in the future.”
“I am very proud of the Milligan College Women’s basketball team,” added Rep. Williams. “I am also proud of all of our other athletic and academic programs at Milligan College.”
Members of the team accepting the resolution on the Senate floor were Johneshia Good, Jaimee Hill, Dorian Freeman and Coach Aubrey.
