Country Music Legend visits Capitol Hill with Sen.
(NASHVILLE, TN), April 9, 2008– Country music singer Jimmy Fortune watched the proceedings of the State Senate Wednesday as the guest of local State Senator Jim Tracy (R-Shelbyville). Fortune sang tenor for the Statler Brothers for 21 years, America’s number-one award-winning country music group.
“It was such an honor to have Jimmy visit with us in the Senate Education Committee,” said Senator Tracy. “The Statler Brothers are a very patriotic group who has inspired many across this country with their music and community spirit. Jimmy is an outstanding American, as well as a gifted vocalist. I was proud to have him as my guest on Capitol Hill.”
