Sen. Watson and Rep. Hazlewood ask TDOT to move swiftly on Highway 127 road project up Signal Mtn.

NASHVILLE –  State Senator Bo Watson (R-Hixson) and Representative Patsy Hazlewood (R-Signal Mtn.) have asked the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to move swiftly on the Highway 127 project leading up Signal Mountain.  In a sternly-worded letter, the lawmakers asked TDOT Commissioner John Schroer to prioritize the road project due to further deterioration of the road.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –  Finance, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bo Watson (R-Hixson) has named Senators John Stevens (R-Huntingdon), Doug Overbey (R-Maryville) and Steven Dickerson (R-Nashville) chairmen of three key subcommittees in the Tennessee Senate.  Senator Stevens was named Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee, Senator Overbey was reappointed Chairman of the Revenue Subcommittee and Senator Dickerson was reappointed Chairman of the Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee.

Senator Watson backing legislation giving teachers and principals the choice to exclude TNReady test scores

NASHVILLE — Senate Speaker Pro Tempore Bo Watson (R-Hixson) today expressed his support for legislation advancing in the Tennessee General Assembly to give teachers and principals the choice to include or not to include student results from the 2015-2016 TNReady assessment in his or her evaluation.
