Statement from Senator Ken Yager regarding Transportation Grant for City of Harriman to Fund Riverfront Greenway

(NASHVILLE, TN), September 5, 2012   —  “The Transportation Enhancement Grant to the City of Harriman will allow the city to complete Phase I of the Riverfront Greenway Project,” said Senator Yager.  “It will fund the beginning of a new trail head at Roane Street, continue along the Emory River to Morgan Street, allowing greater access to the David Webb Riverfront Park, adjacent soccer fields and the Cornstalk Heights Historic District.”

“The Emory River is an important part of Harriman’s geography and history.  These funds will allow the city to open new vistas for the citizens to enjoy both the river and David Webb Riverfront Park.”

“As a member of the Transportation Committee, I was glad to support funding the city’s grant application,” he concluded.
