Statement from Senator Ken Yager regarding Governor-elect Bill Haslam’s appointment of Jim Henry as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Intellectual Disabilities

“I am delighted that Governor-elect Haslam has appointed Jim Henry as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Intellectual Disabilities.  I congratulate him for an excellent choice as there is not anyone more qualified for this position.  It is an extremely important department in helping to provide Tennesseans with intellectual disabilities with the support systems and opportunities they need to succeed in our communities. Jim Henry has the expertise, temperament and compassion to truly make a difference in the lives of those who are served by this department and I look forward to working with him in this new role.”
