(NASHVILLE, Tenn.), November 25, 2013– Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) was recognized recently for his work in the State Senate by the District Attorneys General Conference. Yager received the award at a meeting of the group attended by district attorneys statewide.
Yager has sponsored numerous anti-crime bills during his legislative tenure. He also has sponsored several major bills to address prescription drug abuse in Tennessee.
“We greatly appreciate the tireless work and steadfast commitment of Senator Yager to first understand, and then develop workable solutions, to some very difficult crime problems,” said James W. Kirby, Executive Director of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference.
In accepting the award, Yager praised the work of the district attorneys. “This is certainly an honor and most cherished award, as I have tremendous respect for our state’s district attorneys,” he said. “It has been an honor to work with them and I look forward to continuing our efforts to make our streets safer and to address some of the most pressing public safety problems in Tennessee.”
