(NASHVILLE, TN), October 26, 2012 — State Senator Ken Yager (R-Harriman) said today he has been informed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) that the Oneida (Scott County) Airport will receive a $375,000 grant.
The grant is available through TDOT’s Division of Aeronautics and totals $337,500 in federal funds, $18,750 each in state and local funds. Yager said the funds will be used for hangars..
“This airport is an important tool for economic development and I was pleased to support the grant in committee and the full Senate,” said Senator Yager. “The Oneida Airport is one of the best in the state and serves the entire region. I am sure these funds will be put to good use.”
Senator Yager is a member of the Senate Transportation Committee and is Chairman of the State and Local Government Committee.
