(NASHVILLE, TN), December 9, 2011 — State Senator Ken Yager (R-Harriman) said today he has been informed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) that a $287,100 grant has been approved for the Campbell County Airport. The grant, which is matched locally by $31,900 for a total of $319,000, will be used to update the airport’s layout plan and to install runway pavement drains.
Yager is Chairman of the Senate State and Local Government Committee Committee. The grant is available through TDOT’s Division of Aeronautics after being recommended by the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission.
“Access to airports are essential to the economic development of our county, as well as use for local citizens,” said Yager. “This grant will assist us in making needed improvements.”
Senator Yager represents Senate District 12 in the Tennessee Senate which is comprised of Campbell, Fentress, Morgan, Rhea, Roane, and Scott Counties.
