(NASHVILLE, Tenn.), March 8, 2013 — State Senator Jim Tracy (R-Shelbyville) has received the “Housing Hero” award from Tennessee homebuilders for his efforts to bring affordable housing to citizens across the state. The award was given to Tracy this week during the organization’s annual state legislative conference in Nashville.
“The purpose of the prestigious Housing Hero Award is to honor individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution in the support of the home building industry,” said Susan Ritter, Executive Vice President of the Homebuilders Association of Tennessee. “Senator Jim Tracy’s dedication to this industry has made him a “hero” in our eyes to earn him this award. He has worked hard for the home builders so they can continue to provide quality affordable homes to the citizens of Tennessee.”
“I am honored to receive this award,” said Tracy. “Homeownership is the American dream. I am also glad to partner with homebuilders to provide affordable housing to Tennesseans.”
