Senator Paul Bailey takes oath of office

(NASHVILLE), January 14, 2015  — State Senator Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) took the oath of office on Tuesday in Nashville as the 109th General Assembly was gaveled into session.  The oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice Holly Kirby during the legislature’s organizational session.

 

“I am humbled by the confidence placed in me by the citizens of Bledsoe, Cumberland, Jackson, Overton, Putnam and White counties,” said Senator Bailey.  “My pledge is to work every day to maintain their trust and make them proud of my service as their state senator.

 

The General Assembly will recess for two weeks to allow for office assignments after the organizational session is completed.  They will then convene in a Special Session on February 2 before beginning the regular 2015 legislative session.
