Senator Crowe appointed to Select Committee on Long Term

(NASHVILLE), September 29, 2009 Local State Senator Rusty Crowe (R-Johnson City) has been appointed to the Select Committee on Long Term Care in Tennessee.  Crowe, who is Chairman of the Senate General Welfare, Health and Human Services Committee, was appointed to the special committee by Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey.

The Long Term Care Oversight Committee consists of 10 of Tennessee’s 132 legislators.  It is charged with monitoring Tennessee’s system for providing health care services to the state’s disabled and elderly citizens, and looking for ways to improve those services.

“I am proud to have been appointed to serve on the Select Oversight Committee on Long Term Care,” said Senator Crowe.  “As a sponsor of Tennessee’s home care legislation years ago with Senator Henry, I recognize the importance and urgency that Tennesseeans have a true continuum of care that citizens can access when needed.”
