Local Lawmakers Hold Reception to Honor Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer

(NASHVILLE) — State Senator Ken Yager (R-Harriman), Representative Ron Travis (R-Dayton) and Representative Kent Calfee (R-Kingston) announced today that they will be holding an “Appreciation Reception” in honor of John Schroer, Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The reception will be held on Monday, August 10 in Kingston.

“Commissioner Schroer has gone beyond the call of duty in being responsive to our local road needs, including traveling here to view them firsthand on multiple occasions,” said Senator Yager. “This reception is simply in appreciation of his work for our districts and the State of Tennessee.”

“We are all extremely appreciative of the work the Tennessee Department of Transportation does on a daily basis,” said Representative Travis. “With Commissioner Schroer at the helm, our roads and bridges have seen continuous improvements, making our overall transportation infrastructure some of the best in the nation. While there is always more work that can be done, I am confident in the leadership of Commissioner Schroer in ensuring our community is well taken care of as we move into the future.”

“I look forward to this reception and honoring the hard work of Commissioner Schroer and the entire Department of Transportation,” said Representative Calfee. “All of those at TDOT have done a great job over the last few years staying on top of our state’s infrastructure needs, and I am confident the future holds even greater progress for Tennessee under Commissioner Schroer’s leadership.”

The event will be held on August 10 at the Roane Alliance Building in Kingston, Tennessee from 3:00 to 4:00 pm EST.
