County Executive and local pastor open State Senate
Sessions with invocation

             (NASHVILLE, TN), April 15, 2009 – Two local residents, Pastor Thomas Duncan and County Executive John Mullinix, opened recent sessions of the Tennessee State Senate by delivering the invocation.  They were invited by State Senator Ken Yager (R-Harriman) who represents Fentress County in the Tennessee State Senate.

Pastor Duncan opened the session on Thursday, April 9; while Mullinix, led the invocation on Monday, April 13.  The County Executive also serves as Pastor of Evangelism at Alive in the Spirit Church of God in Jamestown.

The State Senate starts each legislative day with a prayer before taking up the legislative calendars.
