Beavers Honored by Development District
Nashville, Tenn. – State Sen. Mae Beavers (R-Mt. Juliet) has been selected as the 2007 State Senator of the Year by the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD). She was presented the award at the annual Tennessee Development District Association luncheon on Wednesday, March 21st.
“Senator Beavers’ ongoing support and advocacy of our area has made a positive impact on the residents in our fourteen county area,” said Wendy Askins, Executive Director of the UCDD. “We want to let her know that we appreciate her and her work.”
Sen. Beavers is currently in her second term in the state Senate. She serves as the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“I am truly humbled by receiving this honor,” Beavers said. “It is an enormous privilege for me to serve in the state Senate, and I will continue to work hard for the citizens of Tennessee.”
Sen. Beavers also serves on the Senate Commerce, Labor and Agriculture Committee. She represents Cannon, Clay, DeKalb, Macon, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale, and Wilson Counties.
